Entry #5: Human being and Social Media
Just to be clear, when social networking was created, it was expected for people to communicate, contact and share information even when they are halfway around the world. But the use of human in the day has inadvertently made the original purpose that changed and became an online society no different than the real life.
On today's social networks, people always show themselves as different people from real life; We always want to be beautiful in the photos posted on our personal page, we want other people to like and comment positively on that picture, and we always want people to care about us on social networks. We do this just for everyone on social networks, including those we do not know or have not met at least once in real life.
Sometimes, social relationships, and maybe even real life, are related to like and comment actions on each other's photos and status. Many people today, especially young people, argue that people not pressing like a photo or comment politely is not a good friend. Because of this, I've seen many relationships break down because of a photo. I still remembered that when a friend asked me to like her new profile photo on Facebook just because she wanted it to get more likes. I almost lost a friend when I said to her that why would she wanted a worthless "like" on social network and I just like what I really like. Social networking seems to gradually become a place where everyone wants to express themselves, instead of expressing themselves in the real society.
Social networking has become a new standard for society. If you don't have anyone "care" about you on your profile page, or to be specific, if you don't have any "like" on your photo, it's mean that you are just a loser. The more likes and comments you have, the more you will be respected and known by many people, who-you-do-not-know.
